1.10 Personal Reading
For this Standard, you have to form personal responses to independently read texts, supported by evidence. You must read and view six texts over the year and write (or speak about) the ideas in the texts and how you felt about the reading. This assessment runs over three terms, and you will need to show that you can manage yourself, be organised and observe due dates. Two responses will be due each term. You must achieve at least four of the six responses to achieve the standard. You must be regularly reading if you want to achieve this standard. At least two of the texts you read must be extended texts, such as novels and biographies. Only two of the texts may be films.

1.8 Text Connections
This assessment requires you to choose a connection linking four texts together and use evidence to support the connection for each text. This assessment will be assessed in Term 3. You are allowed to use three texts which we have studied in class. You could use a text you have also used for Personal Reading as your fourth text.
